NEW 'GOTHIC BELLYDANCE: REVELATIONS' UPDATE :: blanca
What a perfect week has come to an end! I spent the weekdays preparing, then had the actual performances for two major projects: the staged production of 'DISCORDIA' (photos to come), which was very successful; and the filming of 'GOTHIC BD: REVELATIONS', which looks amazing and showcases many of my favorite bellydance artists.
In addition to our piece, 'Initiate Amongst the Forsaken' (performed by Ayshe, Sarah Murphy and myself with choreography by Ayshe), World Dance NY also filmed 2 pieces by the creative trio Shakra plus 'Byzantine Empress' by Sherene Vismaya.
Performing and filming has become a pleasure for me. The old familiar feeling of struggle and insecurity has given way to the joy of expressing myself, of enjoying the moment of creation with my friends and co-creators, of admiring everybody's work and being inspired by it.
After each of the performances a huge group of us gathered at Matsuri (after 'Discordia') and Brendan's (after 'Revelations') where we celebrated our creativity, our friendship, our blessings.
I so love my life and my friends... and all creative beings out there.

I so loved meeting Na'la, Bronwen and Hilary, my Shakra girls. I felt like we were best friends already... I had the best time the night you arrived but you guys left too soon.... Tempest, I hope you make the trip to NY soon... you're not that far!
